lt1 or carb?

im tired of my car running so slow because of my crappy top end. which would be better and more money efficient, an lt1 intake or a carb?

I'm sure both would pull hard. It's a matter of what you want, really.

Both have their strong/weak points.

Take the Anthrax approach, Minimum effort, maximum gain, and stick a carb on it. You can always change your mind later and go with the LT1 setup. You could run any cam your heart desired. Besides, tuning a carb is just plain cool. Would you stick with the CC dist, or get an older HEI?
