Mechanical fuel pump, swap to 255lph intank

I am looking at my manual here, for my '86 Z28. Right now I'm using a mechanical pump (carb setup) but I'm building a fuel injection setup. The manifold is done, and the electronics are on the way. I bought a 255lph *intank* fuel pump because I want to run an intank pump.

I'm wondering if anyone knows what I'll have to do to hang this pump in my tank, where before I only had a pickup. It looks to me like the tank sender assembly, which is where the lines come out of the tank, are responsible for holding the pump.

I'm not worried about dropping the tank, so please don't suggest an external pump

Thanks,

Send the intank pump back and get an electric inline pump.....mount it as close to the tank as possible and leave the tank alone!!!!

Hit the junkyard and grab the in-tank pickup assembly, it will come with the mounts and wiring for the pump. I bought mine from Knox Auto Parts in Knoxville, TN (www.knoxauto.com) and Camaro Heaven (www.camaroheaven.com) sells them also.

I agree with you on sticking with in-tank pumps, did the same thing when I switched from TBI to TPI.
