Help!Still no start
Here is a list of the things I have checked or replaced.
1.)replaced pick-up coil
2.)replaced rotor
3.)replaced ignition module
4.)fuel pump is fine. 42 psi at the rails
5.)timing chain ok because the rotor still turns
6.)distributor gear is fine
7.)coil is ok.(I used the ac-delco and my hypertech one.still nothing)
8.)checked the wires and I don't see any grounds at all.
9.)it's not the starter. car cranks and cranks but won't turn over.
What else should I look for? Could it be the capacitor? I still don't think I'm getting any spark.Would a bad Alt. cause this?Does the cap need to fit air tight on the distributor? Reason is because the plastic pieces that hold the wire connecters going in to the dist. have rotted away.Throw out all the suggestions you can think of.

what do you mean you think you're not getting any spark? it's not hard to varify if you are or not, that would be a good place to start instead of throwing parts at it hopeing you get it right. if you aren't getting spark at the plugs wires, check with a timing light is quick and easy, see if you are at the cap, if not see if you are at the coil. you only need 3 things for it to start AF mixture, spark and compression. if you have spark see if you have fuel, if you do then check compression. if you have all three then you need to make sure you have enough of each and at the right time and place.
