Yeah. Take out the stereo. The extra 180 lbs. of magnet and steel are going to cost you a couple of tenths for sure.

Remove any weight from the car you can afford... all stereo stuff, seats, jack, tools, garbage... vacuum the dirt outta your rug, start youself on a diet... ect...

Remove the front sway bar before you race to help weight transfer

Read the debate on the drag racing board on burnouts on street tires... seems we'ev changed things... people are now saying steet tires need smoke to hook... Experiment...

Do a complete tune up, change your oil, run some TB cleaner through it, top engine cleaner... anything you want... make sure it's running like a top...

Fix exhaust leaks...

If you know your tires are out of alignment, get them aligned to the specs that can be found on this board... no need to go full drag alignment, just a decent street alignment will work... your car can go faster easier if you don't have to fight to keep it going in a straight line...

some argue with me, but I say take off your AC and PS belts... if you can live with no PS coming back to the lanes... otherwise you might as well leave them both on...

Study other racers on how they launch and how they stage... watch as much drag racing as you can... ask questions...

Good luck!

Raise tire pressure in the front and lower it in the rear.

Go on the last yellow!!!
