'90 LO3....has a hard time starting. It doesn't matter if it's hot or cold, but when i turn the key, the motor turns over real slow. It will turn a time or two, then it speeds up and fires right up. What gives?! It's a nearly new starter. I put it in in April. Good battery too. i dont think it's the alternator b/c once it turns over, there's plenty of power. Any help would be appreciated. check all the power/grounds, check starter draw and everything is ok then it's time for a high torque starter. it really doesn't mean much if you just replaced the starter, especially if it's an discount rebuild.

 

It was actually a brand new one, not a rebuild. This may seem like a really stupid question to you, but why would I all of a sudden need a high torque starter? This one used to turn the car over fine. I'll get to work checkin all of the connections. Thanx.
