Egr Block Off Plate?????

HEY GUYS, I NEED TO KNOW WHERE I CAN FIND A EGR BLOCK OFF PLATE OR A EGR ADAPTER? I JUST GOT A NEW CARB AND THE EGR IS IN THE WAY. MY MECHANIC SAID I NEED A PLATE TO COMPLETELY BLOCK IT OFF. IS THIS THE RIGHT THING TO DO?

That's what I did on my ole LG4 intake. I can't see wasting money buying a part for it.

An old liscense plate with black RTV on it works real well. Not nearly a 1/4" but it works.

I did that on my '83 pick'em up truck.

Advanced Auto Parts, tell 'em it's for you're circle track engine or something, cause if they find out you're putting it on your daily driver they can't sell it, cause of emissions.
