sticky throttle

I have an 88 iroc 350 tpi. the trottle was sticking so i changed and reset the t.p.s.. While i had the sensor off i sprayed car choke cleaner all around the butterflies to clean off any crap that may have built up and possibly keepin the trottle from closing. i had a lot of black stuff flow out of it. Is that good? After putting it all back together i started the car and the trottle still sticks at 2000 rpm's. when i drive the car and get on it, it takes forever for the needle to go back down and then it sticks at 2000 again. Any advice on what it can be?

Clean the IAC and set minimum air.

I had the same problem, I still recommend cleaning the IAC, but spray liquid wrench in all 4 sides of the butterfly shaft. What happened is when you sprayed choke cleaner, it cleaned out all of the old lubricant and now it doesn't have any. Try it and you'll definately notice the difference. I didn't believe it when I heard about it on this board, but was amazed as how easy it was to fix. I tried everything until I heard about it. Let me know your results.
