I am unfortunately going ahead and replacing my pump and fuel-sending unit. I have found after many hours of searches that different cars used different pumps. tbi-tpi-v6 etc. The pumps are all different, but what about the sending units. I have an opportunity for a cheap one (unused) for an 89tbi and also a v6 car. I would obviously put my new pump on them, but will they work in my 89tpi? Anyone know any details on these?

my car was originally an lg4 with an intank pump, i am switching to efi and was told by a GM tech that the lg4 and tpi pump senders are the same, i just need to switch to the high pressure pump. i hope he's right

 

Yes the senders are the same (electrically). because the gauges are all the same.

 

Thanks guys....looks like Ill give one of them a shot. Not looking forward to dropping the tank!
