No spark after TPI to carb swap...
I just swapped my 350 GMPP crate engine with an Edelbrock carb. and coil in cap HEI distributer into an 87 T/A that came with TPI. Everything is swapped in and I took the pink and white wires (coil and tach) that went to the factory coil and hooked them into the batt and tach terminals of my distributer.
The pink wire does show power when I turn the key but none of my plugs are sparking. I also have the Accel supercoil on top of the distributer. Does anyone have any idea of what is causing my problem? One thing I thought of was that my wires inside the disty could be mixed up so to clearify the red wire to the coil should go to the batt and the yellow should go to the tach correct?
BTW, I do have fuel, I set up a new relay system to operate the factory pump and have a mallory 3-ports bypass-style AFPR.
Thanks in advance,
Matt

Did you install the ground bracket in the distributor? The coil is setup so the correct wires on are on the correct side. I was just screwing with my distributor 15 minutes ago and I cant even remember which is which lol.
Have some one crank the car over and hold a test light to the pink wire and see if its shutting down in the start posistion.

Alright, using a test light in the ignition position the pink wire shows power, when in start the test light dims but is still on. There is a three wire harness comming out of the distributer, should this be hooked up to anything? It wasen't in my 84 Z so I can't imagine it does. Also what is the ground bracket?
Thanks for your help,
Matt
