does every problem ALWAYS set a problem CODE??

if i only get code 12s...(no problem codes) is it possible to have a bad MAP sensor??? or any other sensor (like TPS) for that matter??

i guess what i mean is: if you have a bad sensor, would it set off a problem code for sure???

what can be wrong that wouldnt cause a code???
(symptoms like a vacuum leak.......pulsing/fluttering RPMs, perhaps a rich gassy smell, sometimes seems that it revs more than the throttle i applied)

answer any question, i really would appreciate speedy replies...thanks:hail:

No, it won't for sure set a code off. There are too many things to list that may not cause a code. A vacuum leak may not cause any code, depending on the location.

No. The computer isn't infinitely wise or all-seeing. It can only tell you what it sees. Of all the inputs that it gets are within what it's programmed to understand as reasonable for the other conditions it's under, it won't think there's anything wrong.

You know those computers that play chess? Pretty tough opponents huh? What if they were programmed by people that didn't even know the rules? What if you had a far slower / older / less powerful computer programmed by Bobby Fisher or Boris Spassky, up against the fastest / most RAM / biggest hard drive computer programmed by an idiot, and it couldn't see the chess board? Your car computer is the same way.
