6500 rpm safe

my car does not have much power down low but screams after 3000 rpm. Will 3.73 gears help this, and I plan on putting a 2500 stall, on my turbo 350 in the garage. My car pulls to 6500 and sometimes further when racing with it in drive. I do not know the internals of the engine in my car, but would you recomend doing a compression check to see if it is stock or not. I do not want a rod going through my block.

I hit 6200 rpm and a rocker stud pulled out, stock heads just have the rocker studs pressed in, not threaded. This wrecks the head and the head gasket if you are lucky.

You can't tell if it's stock by a compression check.

It's probably safe to 6500 a couple of times anyway. If it's just a toy, spin it till it blows. On the other hand, if this is a daily driver, I believe I'd be more cautious with it, not knowing what it's built out of.

I don't think the gears will change how much power the engine has at low RPMS, but they'll help the engine get out of that range more quickly.

gears. My engine makes 420 FlywheelHP at 6000~ rpms. Below 3000? I cant even spin the tires. I DO run high 12's low 13's however... Going to 3.73's will give me a second or more, easilly.

Kintalon, would you mind posting your engine setup, I'm curious as to what cam/ heads you are running.
