The fuel gauge in my 86 iroc has always gone down a little when i pressed the brake, but recently, it has been goin up and down pretty fast even when the car is idling or just driving, what could cause this, is it a big prob?

The level changes from accelerating and braking are normal due to the fuel sloshing in the tank. Your current situation is different, however, and indicates a possible electrical connection/grounding problem at the tank sensor.
