Ditching computer - wiring?
I would like to completely remove the ECM from my car, and I was wondering what to do about the underhood wiring. Is there a way to separate the chassis wires from the ECM wires? It all seems to be one big giant harness. My friend just changed his car from TBI to TPI, and we changed the wiring harness. When it was out of the car, we stretched it out and just the underhood harness was the entire length of the driveway! Also, when the ECM is gone, how will the transmission lock the torque converter. Will I have to rig a switch? I am not so worried about that, because I will be putting in a T56 eventually.
it really isn't as hard to do as it looks or you'd think. the ecm wiring run to the right inner frnder and the rest of the wires run to the junction box on the left side of the fire wall. there may be a few wires for power that connect to the firewall harness. just unplug your sensers and start working back to the ecm.

Yeah, thats kinda what I was thinking I could do. I guess while I do that I could also cover everything with some cool yellow convoluted tubing! :lala:
