Can I reuse these lifters?

I assume since i have flat tappet lifters that they are junk when i go to get a new cam since they are already broken into the stock cam but it never hurts to ask. Can i reuse my old flat tappet lifters? They only have ~4k on them.

Sure you can re-use them, it's your engine. I wouldn't do it on mine. New set of flat tappets is less than $100 and the consequence of running old lifters is prematurely-worn cam lobes.

well, obviously i could just put them back in. But, like you said and i thought, not without accelerated wear on the lobes. Thanx for the reply.

You don't ever want to re-use flat tappets with a new cam. Putting the same ones back on the same cam... OK I guess as long as you put them all back in the same spots.

But a full set is cheap. I paid under a hundred bucks for my cam AND lifters. They're so cheap that there's no reason to take a chance.
