this is puzzling to me

I just picked up the new issue of Camaro Performers and they have a write up in there on the SDPC TPI base and vortec heads. Its basically the same info we all ready know but what puzzles me is why would someone go and spend about $1100 for 30 hp and still have the same air resticted TPI setup. For $1100 you can get some Edelbrock aluminum heads and have awsome potenial down the road with them. Also did SDPC design the tpi base to flow as good as the aftermarket ones like the big mouth?

Not sure if you've seen it, but I think there is a thread about this on the aftermarket review board , not positive though.

Probably the same reason a Honda driver would spend more than that to replace two cams, a head, and retune the injection system, all to increase from 90 HP to 105 HP - poor research. Unless someone is really ztuck on being different, the $$/HP ratio is way off the scale of practical.
