Leaking AFPR...again?!?
Leaking AFPR...again?!?
Less than three months ago I had to replace the regulator due to a bad/leaking diaphram. The car had been sitting for two years, so I figured that may have played a role. Now the new regulator is doing the same thing which is: Slowly leaking fuel out of the bottom. I can see moisture under the plenum, and when I stick my finger down there it comes back with fuel on it. Also, there is a stain where it looks like fuel is coming from the line you pull to check FP at simulated WOT. Any ideas why this keeps happening, and a possible fix? A new regulator every 2 1/2 months isn't very economical for me.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

I had the same problem but discovered that it was actually the fuel line that goes into the front of the FPR housing. It's not hard for that line to get bent slightly, which will cause it to leak. After 2 unsucessful attempts to straighten it, I finally just replaced the rail with a better one.

I replaced the whole rail. I saw no way to separate the fuel line from the rail. Both lines were welded together at the bracket that bolts to the front of the intake manifold. For $50 I got a complete used fuel rail. I polished it, painted the steel lines and put all new rubber o-rings in. I wound up with one that looked like brand new for a minimal cost. Now I've got a bunch of spare parts that I'll never use too.
