Piston ID Problem

I am looking to ID a set of pistons in a motor I pulled down. The piston is stamped L2244. Might be an old TRW number that is no longer in the new catalogs. If anyone has a older book, it may be in there. I am looking for compression ratios.

Thanks

Mark

What bore is it? How deep is the dish? If you measure the dish you can calculate the volume directly and you have no need for books.

Its a 30 over 350 flattop piston with 4 valve reliefs.

Well that's pretty easy... it's a flat-top. Other than that, the valve reliefs are usually around 4cc. Compression ratio will depend on the heads and head gasket you use, and the deck clearance of the built-up short block. Just use 4cc as the "dish" volume in your CR calculator, you'll be as close as any of that will ever get you.
