leak finder?

has anyone ever used that leak finder stuff? you know the dye that yu put in and shine the black light or something....i thinkin bout gettin it...

how much are they if you guys have used it....and how do they do?

i have a sniffer from snap on for AC systems, is that what you want to check? mine works very good for finding leaks. never used the dye and UV lights.

nah, Im wanting to find an oil leak....the stuff is made by tracerline..........wonder how good it is...or how much it is? their site doesnt have the price....

The UV leak detector will find those "impossible" leaks in HVAC systems. You can use the same dyes in lubrication systems. I've had TIF sniffers that wouldn't find refrigerant leaks, but after a week or so with a dye, the minor leaks were easy to spot with the UV lamp. No matter what you are trying to check, cleaning everything down to the clean paint os the best start.
