Popping thru carb usually means a lean condition.

I'd check the timing, choke, and I also had a similar problem when I had a burnt plug wire.

Zya,

At 32,000 miles, it's time for a 30K service:

* Axle gear oil change;

* Transmission oil and filter change;

* Front and rear brake service - wheel bearing repack;

* Underbody/bushing and body weatherseal lubrication;

* PCV system inspection;

* Oxygen sensor replacement;

* Air and fuel filter replacement;

* Distributor cap, rotor, spark plug replacement, and plug wire test;

* Set TPS, mixture control solenoid, choke, and idle stop (Yes, you have a TPS);

* Cooling system flush & refill, condenser and radiator cleaning;

* Vacuum hose/fuel system inspection.

* Belt and hose inspection/replacement.

Getting current on your scheduled service might solve part of your problems.
