ignition problems
hey i bought my 1988 camaro in august from a warrant officer here in germany. been having problems starting it. sometimes it cranks and sometimes it doesn't. it usually gives me problems first thing in the morning. then during the day it runs fine. whe i turn the key i get a repeated clicking sound. can anyone help me i have had it in the shop several times and the germans don't seem to be helping me much. any help would be greatly appreciated.

clickiing sounds like a starter problem...thats what mine did before the starter completely died
MP,
Welcome Aboard!
Does the clicking come from the engine comparment or inside the passenger compartment? If it is from under the hood, you likely have a starter solenoid failing, or possib;y a connection problem at the solenoid, battery, or engine ground. You may also have a starter motor brush problem if the click is very distinct but you get no cranking.
If the clicking is from inside the passenger compartment, you may have a problem with the neutral safety/clutch safety circuit, or the start enable relay.
