first tell us how you got a car in your basement lol. If you don't have the funds now to rebuild an engine and the car's not particularly special to you then i say sell it. although if it's in good shape i would hold on to it because thirdgens in good shape are getting harder to find

well basicly the entire county I live in is rock. When they built my house they had to backfill around the entire foundation. So this left the back wall of the foundation above the ground. So we busted out a wall and put a garage door in.

The car isn't in good shape.Basicly for someone who wants a drag car only it would be great. But a street car would take more than it is worth.I don't know what to do.I don't want to sell it because well it has been a dream of mine. And on the other hand being more realistic seeing as I am 17 and in the next few years I will have alot of stuff going on.I really can't afford it.

i can relate there. i'm 19 now and have wanted a camaro since i was like 12 but because of insurance i didnt get one when i first started driving. i've now had mine for 9 months. the body has very little rust and only a couple dings and didnt have an engine when i bought it. I got an engine from a '91 corvette and did a top end rebuild along with an lt4 hot cam. i've been using an untuned old holley carb because i'm swapping to fuel injection this winter and even with this crappy carb i ran a 14.9. total cost so far is $4300 which also includes a complete interior swap from a '91 Z28, that's some great bang for the buck. so personally i think it's important to start with a good body because you can either build an engine to swap in while still driving the car witht he original engine or do relatively simple bolt on stuff on the weekends and still have a daily driver during the week. my two cents heh

Well my daily driver is a 92 cavalier.I don't put any money in that car.Just general up keep. And I guess I am going to put a new sound system in it later on.

See right now I am working 2 jobs.I am 17.I dropped out of school. For a bunch of reasons.Anyway right now since I am working 2 jobs I don't have the time to go to classes for my ged.Right now I am going great on money.I make 150 every week at KFC and 450 every 2 weeks at my other job.The only thing I have to pay is 150 a month of car insurance. The thing is in january I am going to have to quit KFC to start going to classes again. That way I can get my GED before I am 18 and get into a union trade.

I used to race mx on 4-wheelers.Last november my 4-wheeler broke a very expensive part in the motor.I just haven't had the funds to fix it.I had them at one time. Then I wrecked my truck. And now I bought this car because I couldn't afford the truck. So I have to fix the 4-wheeler which is going to be about 1500 to do right. Then I have another 4-wheeler to fix which will be around 700.See where I am coming up with no money.I was thinking when I get my taxes back I could rebuild the 400.Then I have to fix the rest of car.I just don't have the funds.

I am not sure what to do.Right now I am leaning towards either finding some place to store the car while I get in a better position to do this right.Or sell it.And wait a few years and buy another one in better shape.

I know where there is an 86 IROC that has 21000 miles on it but is gutted, no motor or trans either. If that 400 of yours is a standard bore and the block is not cracked would you be interested in a trade? If not what would you sell the 400 for and where is festus?

I can get pics soon, I have to get some oddball usb cable to connect my camara to the computer. It's a very straight car with NO rust. I don't own it right now but I will probably buy it tomorow. If I do I will post pics here and you can see what you think. IMO it would be a very fair trade on your end for a 400 short block. Hell I've even got a 350 block and crank freshly machined (30 over 2 bolt block,10-10 under crank) from a very well known machinest (and 15 yr long good friend of mine) to sweeten up the deal. Not to pressure you or anything

Man it is very tempting. It is one of my good freinds though.he has been looking for one for a while.I just stumbled across this one.And bought it.I ran whenever I pulled it out of the truck. It ran like crap.I think that was the carb though. It is a complete motor. It ran I pulled it out of the truck.Even left the exhaust manifolds on.I haven't done a compression check on it yet.

I am not even sure yet if I want another car.I am thinking about building another racing 4-wheeler.

But yes the motor is complete. From the peice o crap carb to the pan.
