How can I disable the fuel pump?

I'm trying to do a compression test and, as the intake and fuel rails are off, every time that I go to crank the engine, I end up with a nice big puddle of gas on top of and below the engine.

So I just need to keep the fuel pump from priming when I turn the key. How can I do that?

Thanks

I don't have fuel injection so I'm not 100% positive but there should be a fuse labeled 'fuel pump' or 'fp', yank that and it won't turn on.

Ukraine Train: There was a 10 amp fuse labeled "F/P inst" or something like that; I pulled it and it still primed...

ede: I know what you're talking about; thanks!

Either pull connector off fuel pump relay (drivers side firewall-outer one-relay with grey wire coming out of connector).

or disconnect plug just above rear axle on the floorpan kick-up.

Andy.
