building a 350
My dad has a 350 block laying around in the garage, which i am going to be getting soon.
since i no longer have my bird, my plan is to build the 350 up to the best kick *** engine possible (no exceeding $3,000 dollars on it) and then once thats done and I get a good transmission, I will get a nice '89-'92 camaro without an engine and drop it in.
Heres my question, what should I put on the 350? also, what kind of transmission should I get? This is going to be a street car, no audio system in it so i can keep weight down. I won't be getting a camaro for along time, but I need to start prepping the 350

i like my 383 but it cost alot more than 3k. if you plan on alot of hp, the th-400 will handle alot more power but as far as weight goes, a manual tranny will weigh less. but then again, a th-400 with a shift kit will shift a helluva lot faster. as far as the engine, there are thousands of combinations, you should be a little more specific about what you want.
