Power windows dying a slow death?

My power windows take forever to go up and down.....especially the drivers side. On a guess, I would say about 8-10 seconds.

So I'm guessing my motors are beginning their death march, and I was wondering where I can get some other ones for a good price before I'm stuck with my windows in the down position.

Thanks,

-The Gunny

Have you tried using silicone lube on the glass and seal? That usually fixes slow windows.

Actually, the factory used white lithium grease, but silicone or anything would be an improvement:

Hey Devil Dog!! I'm actually about to perform the same task on my car, in fact it's the same car with around the same mileage as yours, funny coincidence. The only difference is my window motors will go up or down just a little bit before they freeze then I have to wait a few minutes and try it again, and keep doing this. This is because when the motor gets really worn it draws a lot of amperage and causes the circuit breaker to trip. Your problem sounds like it may be the window regulator that needs lubed. If you do decide to replace the motors GM charges 325-350 a side. Do it yourself and it will cost you 50 bucks for a new motor. I purchased mine from Auto Zone and also recieved a life time warranty on it.
