Mating SS fuel line with stock hard line???

I want to replace the rubber fuel line going from the top of the fuel tank to the 3/8" hard line with stainless steel braided line, but what do I use to make the connection? The only thing I can think of is to cut the end off, and put on a flare fitting (which I have no experience doing), and using a flare to AN adapter. Is this the right way to do it?

Or you could clean the steel line thoroughly, install a steel compression fitting / flare adapter for the 37° fitting. These are sold by the handful at places that supply hydraulic fittings, and hold a lot more pressure than your fuel system will ever develop.
