well i went through on summit's web site yesterday and added up all the prices for everthing im going to need for the 355 and it comes out to about 1500 while the 383 comes uot to almost 3 grand, so i think ill be going with the 355 because later on down the road i can pop in a stroker kit.

so ill have a little more versatility.

Later

u also have to take into account..... the little s h i t u'll need like gaskets .... sealer... all that kind of crappy stuff that emptys ur wallet... its a killer... estimate another 500 onto that so lets say 2000 for the 355

Squeekers you got 50 miles on a rebuilt 350 in the car now. If you sent the block to the machine shop during the rebuild they probably bored it. You might have a 355 now. It's only a number. Even if you block isn't bored it is not worth building another engine for 5 magical cubic inches. Fix your oil leak. Buy good heads/ new cam/ whatever, and build on what you have. The bottom end of your engine now is a perfect base to build on, and heads and cam can be changed in the car without having to pull the engine. I'm not trying to harrass you but there is a way to save some money. If you try to build an engine and have to buy cheap parts and cut corners you will be more disapointed than you are now.

oh na man, i am going to fix this oil leak, then there is a kid at me school willing to give me 2000 got my 350 in my car now, so with that cash i could put on all the stuff i want on my new engine. and the bore was .30 over, so i do have a 355, but i dont want to bolt on a bunch of power mods then blow out the bottom because of the dam 2-bolt main,

but i am getting a 4-bolt main block for 50 bucks this week so i might just switch in all the parts form the 2-bolt to the new 4-bolt, put on some better heads, and some roller rockers. then i should be good, thats what i was most likly going to do. after i fix the dam oil leak...
