Hey guys. I have a 172,000 mile L98. When i went to change the header gaskets (dang stock edelbrock gaskets) i pulled the plugs, ran a compression and leak down test....got 135psi dry and wet cranking compression. and i had only 6-7% leak down...not bad huh? think nitrous would be a bad idea? haha. shows what regular maintenece will do?

All those sliding parts DO like to have a clean supply of oil. I have experienced the same sort of thing on higher mileage engines. I'm a believer in synthetics, and have had good, measurable results after extended use.
