Harmonic Balancer
Will a harmonic balancer off a 305 fit/work for a small block 400? How about a 350? Also, can any of you recommend a good, cheap balancer if that swapping WON'T work? Thanks.

do a search, somewhere there's a GM advertisement that says a 305 damper is the same as a 350 damper. Not sure about the 400 though, since it's got a different crank. Maybeit's in the article
To my knowledge you should be able to interchange the harmonic balancer from a 305 to a 350...They are both internally balanced engines, where as the 400 is not, and requires a larger balancer as well as a different flex plate/fly wheel
