Low duration, high lift...

Very generally, what affects will a low duration high lift cam produce?

I have a 196/206 roller cam and I'm going to be running 1.6 ratio rockers soon. This will produce .460/.481 lift.

I know that most cams with low duration like this usually don't have this much lift...that's why I'm curious.

thanks

not positive on this one, but i believe it will more or less cause a very LOW rpm torque curve. You'll get alot of power down low, but it will probably sign off by 4500 rpm or less. I know they make truck cams with the same theory in mind, use short duration and huge lift to make lots of torque down low...

not postive, just my guess...

Yea..... you're right.

The low duration is good for low rpm torque. That's why most stock cams are this way, ESPECIALLY trucks.

By popping the valves open farther, there's less restriction under the valve. MORE AIR=MORE POWA!!!!!

Cool. Thanks for the replies.

I dunno if I'm going to stay with this cam or get a 2032 CompuCam.
