Help please erratic idle/chip related?

When I start my car (TPI) it idles fine. The car came stock with a 5SPD. I bought it with a 700R4 in it, and as I said, at start up all is fine, but after it is driven down the road, it won't idle down. It runs like 1500RPM after a drive. I haven't adjusted the TPS or cleaned/set the IAC yet, but I was wondering if the chip could cause this. (If it is for a 5SPD car rather than an auto.) I don't know if the chip was swapped for an auto chip or not, is there any way to tell? If you guys don't thik the chip is the problem, let me know WHAT YOU think it is....
Thanks, Brandon

Has it always done this, or did it just start doing it? Did you do anything to the TB, like clean it out with carb cleaner? Have you dane anything to the car since you bought it?

No, I have done nothing to the car, but it's done it ever since I got the car.
Thanks
