What more do I need to get to 13s?
What more do I need to get to 13s?
Ok all my real mods are in my sig. I plan on a mini spool (hard on axles but ill have another car soon to
) 3.73 gears, ~2600 stall, I need to get my trans-go shift kit installed. Would this get me into the 13s? Im guestimating that I have 250hp maybe.
Future motor mods include sportsmans II heads and a extreme energy 282 cam. I better be faster than a 13 with this
What do you all think?
Ill be running street tires for now.
Oh yeah I think I might go back to a single 3'' exhaust again but im not positive yet. Might keep the duals since im getting another car but I havent decided yet.

DON'T do the mini-spool....not worth it at all if this car will be driven not trailered.

Heads. Ditch that garbage swirl-port crap, get a set of L98 heads or something decent.
That 282 is too much cam for the rest of your setup. A XE268, or at most a XE274, would be a better choice. "There's no such thing as to much cam, only not enough motor".... you won't have enough motor for that cam. And not enough converter either.
If you don't already have LAC relocation brackets, get those, they dramatically improve traction off the line. .1 sec improvement @ 60' = .1 sec improvement in ET: hard to beat a payoff like that.

What RB said.
The XE282 cam will be worthless with those heads (or any unported factory heads, for that matter).
Go bigger on the converter. A 2600 stall is pretty weak. I am running a 2600 stall 9.5" precision industries converter in my stock 5.0 'stang, and I wish I would have went bigger. As long as you get a GOOD (read "$$$") converter, you will not hurt the street manners at all.

282 is to much for a 350 with sportsman II heads??
I wont be doing the cam until I do the heads...so would the 282 be to much for sportsman IIs?
you think I have enough power to get into the 13s with just suspension mods right now.
