just got my fuel injectors back from Cruzin Performance, got a few questions..

First i would like to say that Rich at Cruzin Performance does an AWSOME job! I am highly impressed and i recomend anyone who needs their injectors cleaned (well not the crappy 89-90 ones) to use his service.. He was going to be closed Dec 18- Jan? and i wanted to make sure that i got mine cleaned before he closed. So i called him and he made sure that they would get cleaned. HE also kept very good contact with me and is VERY informative about what he does. so thanks you Rich. :hail:

ok now here is my question, when i was taking the injectors off, it was hard for me to get them out of the fuel rail (it was still installed, i have since taken it off) and i would have to tilt the injectors and pull at an angle to get them out, but that would tear the O-ring for each one that i did like that. and i dont' wanna ruin and new O-rings by not being able to get them in correctly. so what is the best way to put them back into the fuel rail? should i just push really hard? should i lube the O-rings with something or what? thanks

When I got my injectors back from Rich I took them out of the bag and stuck them right in the fuel rail without any problems. They didn't take as much force to get back in as they do to get out. Haven't had any problems with them in the last 2000 miles, so I figure they're okay.

I use silicone dielectric grease, like they supply with spark plug wires. I keep that stuff around in bulk for lots of uses.

Rich definitely is customer service oriented. After using his service, I recommend it to others without heitation.

Breathe,

Yes, Rich is a very professional, thorough, honest, and capable person. Why do you think I keep recommending Cruzin' Performance for injector service? I've sent in sets during rebuild that DIDN'T need service, and he emailled back immediately saying they were O.K. and were only getting cleaned. He could have easily charged me for the full service, since I didn't know any better (and would have gladly paid it) but I got the cleaned set back with new rings and clips for a minimal cost. I couldn't have even bought a set of GM 'O' rings for what the entire bill set me back, let alone clips and cleaning, shipping, insurance, etc.

You were lucky to get them back under the wire, but if I know Rich, he made sure you got them back or wouldn't have promised the delivery date.

As for the installation, the factory manual recommends a liberal coating of clean engine oil on the 'O' rings before installation to prevent scuffing and damage. They'll probably come back with a little oil on them already, but a bit more won't hurt anything. They are designed to operate in fuel, so oil won't affect them at all. That's what I've done and the almost fall in place once you get them past the taper. Just make sure the rails are cleaned first.

You should plan on installing a new fuel filter just to protect your fresh injectors, but Rich probably already mentioned that.

Just out of curiosity, how far off were the injectors in the initial test?

Vader, i forgot to thank you for being the one who recomended Rich, it was your praise about him that made me pick him..

Im not sure on the initial flow test numbers. but he told me that the injectors were no more then 3% off from the highest to the lowest.. and that for injectors with over 200,000 miles on them, that they were in exceptional condition.. i was both pleased and disapointed at hearing this. (i was hoping that maybe the injectors were the cause of my lean condition, but was glad to know that the injectors were high quality)

here are the final #'s
Static flow comparison test:
Injector #1-100ml
Injector #2-99ml
Injector #3-99ml
Injector #4-98ml
Injector #5-99.5ml
Injector #6-99ml
Injector #7-99ml
Injector #8-100ml

Dynamic flow comparison test:
Injector #1-99ml
Injector #2-98ml
Injector #3-99ml
Injector #4-98ml
Injector #5-100ml
Injector #6-98ml
Injector #7-98ml
Injector #8-100ml

thanks for the installation tips guys!
