grr. where can i find a freaking 6-40 bolt for fuel pressure regulator

I took apart my fuel pressure regulator today, and i had to end up taking off 4 of the bolts with vice grips cause of the stupid tamber resistant nipples that are part of the screw holding the cap on. now i need some 6-40x 1\4" screws to replace those that i took out. but like EVERY freaking store i went to has 6-32 (course). no one had 6-40 (fine).. or pretty much any other fine threaded screw!!!! I didn't have a chance to goto Ace Hardware because they were close.. (close at 6 ).. am i gonna be screwed finding these??

Are you sure you don't mean 5-40? That's a lot more common size. As for the FPR screws, I think they are metric - either M3 x 0.5 or M4 x 0.5

If they are m4 I think that we have them, I will grab some and bring them with me to Gregg's house also, incase you can not find them.
Vader is almost always right.

Their is a hardware store by my house that should have them, it's on Lamar and Copper st, in the shopping center.

Breathe,

Wow! You lucky bastard. I'll bet that was a Fastenal item (or some other industrial supplier). Were you able to get them in Torx?

haha yes i was lucky. I went to Ace Hardware and searched the metric bolts for about 5 min when i realized that they had a M3.5 (well actualy i noticed they had M2.5 and was hoping they would have M3.5). i eventualy found it in the massive selection of other metric bolts.. they aren't torx, just phillips head.. which is fine for me. only problem though was no locking M3.5 washers. so i got some locking M4 washers.. this is the first time i have went to a hardware (home improvement) store and got everything i needed without having to goto another store. (i got some stuff to help with the polishing of my plenum) and i was very happy to just have to make one stop. :lala: ill be even more happy if i can get my car put back together by thursday.
