Hesitation at higher RPM

Hesitation at higher RPM
Ok at around 4k the car shakes alittle. I havent checked the plugs but they might be bad. They are new but I may have fouled them up pretty good since i just installed the carb and everything. I noticed I am running alittle rich (black smoke, alittle not to bad) at higher RPMs. I havent touched the carb...
I think I have it narrowed down to plugs or to cold of thermostat. Im installing a 195 thermo in a few min to see if it helps...
180 stat + 180 fan switch + winter + carb = bad
If it keeps acting like it is im ready to throw a holley 670cfm TBI on there and kick the carb to the curb.
