TPI Timing

How would i go about advancing my time a little bit. Ive read other people advancing to about 6 degress saying it runs a lil better. I dont have much experience with this kinda thing on a computer controlled vehicle. Would this call for a new chip? How would i go about adjusting it? Sorry im kinda a newbie but im jus trying to learn.

It's best to adjust it in the chip itself, but you can advance it by hand with a timing light. Once you get a timing light, you just need to disconnect a connector on the passenger side of your car near the blower motor, then spin the distributor and watch your timing while aiming at the tab on your timing cover/line on your harmonic balancer. Post back when you've got the light. You can do a search for "EST connector" to find what to disconnect. I'm sure there will be pictures.
