Quick question about the oil pan...

If i lift the motor off its mounts a few inches, will the pan clear the pickup on the oil pump when i go to take it off? I dont have any help to pull the engine and trans so id like to keep the whole lot in the car if possible.

Well....if you undo the motor mounts and the exhaust, I dont see any reason you wouldnt be able to get the motor high enough to slide the pan out.

basically yes, you have to get the counter weights in the right location and it'll clear.

Put the crank mark at 6 o'clock
Remove dist cap
Remove down pipes from manifolds.
Might have to remove starter (I did)
Remove motor mount through bolts
I also removed trans mount bolt
Raise engine 3.5 inches (2X4 sideways)
I raised mine with a jack and a block of wood under the oil pan.

This worked for me. I had the pan off in 45 minutes.
Good luck
