Are you wanting a billet crank or a forged steel crank. I have an LA enterprise billet crank in my motor and it should handle 2000hp if I want to make that much. I have heard that a forged crank can handle 1000hp or alittle more but that's about the max. Callies are very good crankshaft. How much HP are you wanting to make? I am making 1000hp or alittle more and I know the billet is alittle overkill but I plan to upgrade in the futher and hope to pump out about 1700+ with a turbo. I have also heard good things about Cola Cranks and a bunch of people use Eagle and Scat cranks. But I think I would stick with the Callies crank. Just remember you get what you pay for.

Callies forged steel crank will be fine. Just get some Eagle H-beam rods and some JE or Ross forged piston and you will be set with the bottom end. What cubic inch is the motor going to be and what cylinder head are you going to use? Sorry for all the question.

I don't think it will be that hard to hit your goal since it's boosted.
Good Luck with it.

yea. i have absolutly no doubt about reaching the power goals. my worries lie in blowing apart the motor with so much power.

i was at www.flatlanderracing.com i think it was and they have callies dragonslayer cranks for $729. which is the best priced callies crank i have seen. and is at a price i can afford. any thoughts on this particular crank?

I have not heard anything about that series of crankshafts. But I am sure you would not have any problems with it. Maybe someone else will chime in with some info on that series of Callies cranks. I would also like to know because I might use one on my next motor. Let us know how everything works out.

im not sure about anything on them. the callies website doesnt list them. and on that site it says they're new so i have no clue. but im assuming its good because its a callies crank. and at $729 you really cant beat it.

they got a lil write up about the dragonslayer in that article. i guess the dragon slayer is a slightly toned down version of the racemaster.

if anyone else has any opinions or info on this line of crank. dont be shy.

DragonSlayer crankshafts are made in the U.S.A. for American Racers. Made
of Premium grade 4340 material, each DragonSlayer will outlast several
offshore shafts. These shafts are machine to the tolerances demanded by
today's high performance engine builder. Roundness and taper will be help
to within .0003 in on all rod and main journal diameters. Our finishing
procedures produce excellent load carrying surfaces that insure extended
bearing life and trouble free operation.

Consider this is a long-term purchase, at Callies we manufacture components
for long-term service. The unique Callies Dura-Tuff heat treatment will be
there working for you even after .030 in regrind. Our 4340 material is
considerably more fatigue resistant than any comparable shaft in this price
category. The combination of our high purity premium grade steel and
Callies proven heat-treat expertise produce strength of superior value.

Each crank is doubled checked for correct stroke, index and journal
diameters. This attention to detail guarantees that your job of engine
assembly will be trouble free

DragonSlayer Small Block is available in either 3.480" or 3.70" strokes,
with 350 mains. GM style post keyways are standard. Counterweights are
camed for 6.000" rods on all 3.750" stroke shafts while 3.480" cranks are
cut for 5.700".
