my car will not start when it's cold! i checked the plugs-cap- rotor. tried dry gas. replaced the manifold coolant tempature sender. chaged out the the fuel filter. i am lost! when it gets around thirty degrees the car wount start. starting fluid helps to get going sometimes. even if i get it going i have parked it in front of the bar after work at night and it wount start after sitting for just an hour! wtf! it's still warm! i am looking in the morror and shaking my head at the idiot looking back at me. please help, car is an 88 iroc with 350 tpi and 700 trans, oh, and it's not giving me any codes. i am leaning towards a fuel delivery problem.thanks in advance, mike a.k.a. idiot boy

HEY!

You lookin' in my mirror again?

I see the same thing, so I was just askin'...

As for the hard cold starting problem, your car should be equipped with a cold start valve (injector) and cold start control. Failure of this system will cause protracted cranking and very difficult starting when the coolant temperature is below 104°F.

Re: help! idiot in the mirror

check your fuel pressure, it's likely bleeding off considerably faster than it should.

Mike- I've got the cold-start switch from my '88 setup...worked fine when I removed it. Yours for the taking, you know where I live. Give a shout after Christmas.
