Blue Chip Crate Motors

My brother was showing me this place called Blue Chip Motors online. They offer a completely stock crate motor for like $800 eith a core charge. Im cynical and suspicious because that seems like a good idea. Anyone know anything about them? Thanks in advance.

www.bluechipmotor.com They are remanufactured. But still 800 seems cheap even for a remanufactured.

That is a typical price for a remanufactured motor. I live in Tulsa and talked to those guys since I could drive there and avoid shipping cost. But after talking to a place in Okmulgee, Ok that had an even cheaper price for a roller block rebuilt and it was even closer I went with them.

In general re-manufactured motors are at least if not slightly better than stock. The pistons usually have valve releifs for higher lift cams and contain higher nickel content.

But you should be able to find something locally comparable to that price rebuilt and not have to have it shipped.

I would prefer to see the motor before you buy it. Many engine rebuilders to a better job and use better parts than others. I have a local place that I bought my 4 bolt roller 357 shortblock from for $500. They use quality parts and the machine work is nice. I put plenty of abuse and high rpms on the bottom end and it does fine.
