Going to get my new motor. Some questions

Last night I was one of my buddies who dad happens to own a junkyard. If they had any 350's laying around. And he said yeah he had two.One is already .060 over and one is still on the stock bore.So I am getting ready to go pickup the stock bore one.I have some questions though.

Assuming all the tolerances are ok.Like it really is on it's stock bore with no ridge will it be alright to just hone and rering it.The same goes for the bearings. If the crank hasn't been turned and is within spec will new main bearings be alright to.Can I install a new cam with old bearings? The rebuild kit I am looking at has new cam bearings I am just wondering if I really need them.I ave a set of vortec heads I want to use.Can I use regular Small block head gaskets or do I have to have vortec head gaskets?

I guess I am trying to cheap out alittle bit here.If I could go this route I would have money for other things like a convertor and stuff.

you would only want to bore it to the next size over if the out of round or taper in one or more holes exceeds the tolarance. i forget what it is off the top of my head, but i'm thinking .004. measure it with a dial bore gage. same with the crank, you wouldn't want to turn it undersize if it measures ok, use outside mike. again off the top of my head i don't remember but i think the pins are 2.199 and the mains are 2.448. the one down side to leaving a ridge or useing a block with a ridge is the ring "crashes" into it each time the piston reaches TDC. yes you need new cam bearings, if you ask me the cam bearing is the first and most important place oil preasure is built and maintained. you can install a new cam and old bearings ,just like you can assemble the engine with out oil or lube, can be done but it's not the smartest move you could make. i'd use a coated head gasket, nothing fancy or special for iron heads.
