Need a starter but dont have the money to get a decent one and i dont want to get an el-cheapo rebuilt autozone starter so can i use (steal) the one off my 4.3L S-10 beater? Will it have enough torque to turn my 350? My present one is almost dead. has a new battery (The previous one ruptured and was leaking acid everywhere) and the connections are clean and in good order so i dont think its those. The friggin starter bearly turns the motor and i want to get something in the meantime to hold me over untill i have a positive cash flow.

 

Try it. When looking for starters I've read that some for my car would work on 90 degree v6s as well, so I wouldn't doubt it.

 

i think there like 85 amp starters or something to that effect... has to be better than my bazzilion amp goes slow as **** starter i have now.

 

I've been using my original 4.3 OEM starter ever since my engine swap. Go for it.
