Paging vader or any one else that can help1

When I first start the car is surges, drops in rpm's then shootsback up until the car warms up, when its warmed up it is fine. It used to surge so bad it would almost die, but when i replaced the MAT it wasnt as bad and didnt almost die. I dont know what else to do. I have replaced the MAT, CTS, adjusted the TPS and minimum air, so those are out as being problems. Any help is appreciated.

Car is an 89 IROC w/ only major mod being a stealth ram.

surging

Sounds like the fuel pump is going. Have you checked the fuel pressure and changed the filter lately?

Fuel pressure is one thing to check. If it is a tuned port you may want to remove the throttle body and check the IAC valve and the passageways in the TB. If it get gummed up it will cause erratic idleing especially when its cold. Another thing to check is the EGR, if its a TPI its a PITA. Carbon buildup can cause the valve to not completely close. It is normal for the idle when it's in open loop to change as the ECM looks for input from the O2 sensor, but it's more of a defined change than what you call surgeing. Many problems can manifest themselves much worse when the engine is cold but still exist to some degree even when hot. Moral of the story, check vacuum lines and use normal troubleshooting.

The fuel pump is brand new and the car has a stealth ram so there is no EGR. I have already replaced the IAC and checked the ports in the TB and they are fine.
