Disabling governor(speed limiter)

I recently swapped rear ends, and the change in gears in my '90 RS (from 2.73 - 3.70 - 9"). I have been having a hard time getting the right speedo gears to compensate.(just using standard 3.73 to make calculations) It works fine for now, but every time the speedo reads 115, which is actually somewhere near '75-80 to my closest guess. This is a real PITA... how can I disable the governor(speed limiter)?

Now, other than putting in an on/off switch to temporarily bypass the governor, is there any way to actually program it to a higher level? Like an unatainable level, i.e. 250-300MPH? Or to just eliminate it alltogether so it no longer needs the VSS?
