Power out of a 305

I have a chance to buy a non Running 87 Camaro w/305 with everything (a complete Car... wel sort of) anyways I was wondering how much power I could get out of the 305 if I put Flat top Pistons a 350 horse 350 Cam redo the heads with 194 intake and 160 exhaust valves a edelbrock Performer intake Holley 750 Carb. Headers Flowmaster electric fans mec. fuel pump. Hei. but the kicker is I'm not going to have a computer. and the Motor is going into a 82 Z28 w/factory 4-speed. I have no clue what gears are in the car.

Or I have a chance to trade My 86 Monte Carlo SS t-tops loaded for a Loades Perfectly good runing 89 RS Camaro W/2.8 Liter V6.
that I could later Put a V8 in. My question is would yall A. Keep the 82 w/30 thousand miles and put the hoped up 305. or trade the Monte Get the RS and sell the 82. and later put the hoped up 305 in the RS.

Thanks William

Personally I'd swap the 305 into the '89, unless there're any glaring problems with the frame or the car. For all the good lowdown on the 305 look around for posts by Sitting Bull or five7kid, they've been extremely helpful with all my questions about my LG4.

I would not trade a MC SS for a 6-cylinder RS. Period. Unless the MC SS was ragged out, wrecked, and otherwise a beater, and the plain Camaro was pristine, cherry, and someone had already pulled the 6-cyl out and prepared it for a V8.

Your first suggestion makes more sense, except for the 151 cam. That POS will protect the motor from ever producing any real power.

But... if you're willing to spend the money for boring, pistons, et.c etc., why not put another $100 with that $1200 or so that rebuilding the 305 is going to cost you, and pick up the other 45 cubes? Lowest $$$ / HP you can possibly buy.

You can get about 300 hp out of the 305 with those parts. My parts in my sig work well. But RB is right. If that 305 needs rebuilding then don't do it. A 350 is then a much better investment.
