Swap problems, wont start
Well,
i swapped a 1989 IROC L98 with trans to a 1987 Z28 and of course the car wont start (cranks). I am guessing i have to custom flash the PCM to clear the VATS stuff, but i am getting spark. The other issue i have is that the fuel pump starts priming the moment i connect the battery. I disconnected the PCM and the fuel pump relay and it still keeps doing the same thing. Anyone have any ideas?
thanks

Allrighty
the pump keeps going even when the oil pressure switch, the fuel pump relay and the ECM are unplugged. The wiring in the fuel pump fuse/engine fan area was a bit cobbled, could that cause this?

Slepac,
If you used the '89 ECM, it is probably expecting a VATS module input to enable the starter and fuel injector pulses.
As for the constant pump running, if the relay, oil pressure switch, and ECM are disconnected and the pump is still running, you likely have a wiring problem. This should be the wiring:

Thanks for the schematic
Do you have the schematic for the fan relay wiring (i have a two fan system), where the fuel pump fuse is at. This is where i seem to have a problem, cause the pump will run even when i pull the 20A fuse out.
Thanks
