the whole deal

Hey. I've posted little questions here and there about individual things, but put it all together and it may make more sense.

My TPS Sensor stopped working properly a while back (according to the check-engine light). I didn't experience any difference in performance or gas milage, So i've been drivin it w/out much trouble.

Sometime in the mix, my exhaust started smellin pretty bad. I don't know exactly how to describe it... It's not a gross i want to puke smell, but it's definitely wierd. Kinda like something's getting fried pretty good... Not rubber. I don't know if this is an ultra-lean smell or what.

Latest thing is my O2 sensor is apparently out to lunch too (according to the check-engine light).

Questions: What do you think the smell is? Do you think the bad TPS sensor was responsible for the o2 sensor? Reccomended courses of action?

No, it's not a nauseating smell at all. Just smells kinda burnt.

It's possible you went excessively lean and toasted the O² sensor. With no TPS signal, the mixture could still be lean, causing you to torch the cat converter.

Repair your sensors first, then see if things return to normal.
