found out why but what? Internal vacuum leak.

It's that fNord PU I posted a week back about, I finnaly got around to messing with it again. It does have an internal vacuum leak and will suck a finger down into the valve cover. I've eliminted the intake and gaskets as problems now im just left with the head down. I'm thinking valve guides could be shot any other idea's???

If you don't see blue smoke out the exhaust, you could likely rule out guide seals and rings. Also, leaking oil into the cylinders will foul the spark plugs really fast.

I'm assuming you've gone through all of the vacuum lines and checked the throttlebody/carburetor gasket? PCV valves? Charcoal cannister? Interior heater control vacuum lines?

I'm comvinced its a blown guide. I told the guy he's either going to need the heads gone through completely and find out what damage running at 3K+ ilde has done to the bottem end or go with a good used engine (safe bet) either way the prices to fix this turd are near equal $25.00 more for the used engine. I'm glad I only drive GM's.

Yea, all the vacuum lines were plugged and gaskets were all replaced.

Did you try the test with the PCVvalve capped/disconnected? The wrong valve (or a stuck one) could develop a lot of crankcase vacuum in a hurry.
