Fuel pressure setting?
Hey all, I know this has been beaten to death on the board, but I was wondering what fuel pressure to set my AFPR at. I have an 88 GTA, with the 350 TPI L98 motor, SLP 1 3/4 headers, ported plenum, Random high flow cat, stock exhaust
(due for replacement in the summer), AC Rapidfire plugs, MSD 8.5mm wires, K&N filter, and a Holley AFPR. I did a search, but came up with nearly 700 replies, and most were completely irrelevant. Of the ones that were, I couldn't find a car with mods similar to mine.
Now, I know there's no "magic number," but what's a good place to start? I've read on the board anywhere from 42 - 50 PSI with key on, engine off, vac. line removed and plugged. I currently have it set at 49, and it's running rich. I know it would perform better if I turned it down, but I'd like suggestions on what to set it at. I don't have access to a track, so I can't T&T either. The SOTP dyno isn't accurate at all, esp. with it being 15 degrees outside here (no traction at all). So, anyone have ideas? Or know what the stock setting was? (forgot to look before removing stock regulator
)
TIA for any replies!
