97 firebird headlight problem

hey guys my brother has a 97 firebird, the headlights go up and down, but the headlight motor seems to keep running we can still hear it! so i dont know if this is a common problem or what??? any help would greatly be appreciated!

my car that is 10 years older than that used to do tat about a month before the little plastic ball bearings that moved the lights up and down were crushed completly into powder. I don't know if 4th gens use the same type of system or not, but since the resistance wouldn't go up until a lot of running and crushing plastic into powder, the motor kept running. I can't imaging GM using that same system in the headlight motors though....but its possible, or I am probably completly off and it is some known problem lol. If it is that though, it isn't tough to fix, I fixed 'em on my 87 in about 3 hours from the time I pulled the first screw to the time I replaced that screw.
