New fuel tank, Need help with pump.

Just swapped out my fuel tank due to a bad fuel pump and rusted out tank. I have an 83 z-28 crossfire injected 305. i found a camaro at a junk yard with a good tank on it. It was an 87 v6 camaro. I opened the tank up and the gas and pump look good. But i have a few problems and questions.

1. Does an 87 v6 pump flow enough to properly feed a CF 305?
2. If it does is there a way to test the pump before i bolt everything back into place?
3. How long do pumps last for?
4. Should i just replace with a new pump if still ok?
5. Will an 87 v8 pump fit in the 87 v6 tank? Because the 83 v8 pump is different than the 87 v6 pump. It has different fittings for wiring and is shorter.
If anyone has any information to help me out i would be grateful.

pumps should be the same for both v6 and 8 but i may be wrong, to test it i'd just remove it from the tank and connect it and see if it works when ya turn the key, still if they are reasonably cheap you may what to just put a new one in due to the fact that its a bitch to replace a pump in these cars.. id go back to the junk yard and cut the wiring connectors off the other car and attach em to your wires
